Cycle Dayton

Hit the trail

Ohio’s Miami Valley region provides over 340 miles of paved, multi-use recreational trails. Stretching across county lines, these trails connect schools, parks, historic landmarks and area attractions. Travel through meadows, scenic countryside, forested areas and city centers while on the path. Our great system of trails enhances both the wellness and quality of life of Miami Valley residents and visitors. 340 miles of trail to explore every day of the year, from dawn till dusk.

Montgomery County is home to over 70 paved trail systems. The Miami Valley also boasts the Nation Largest Paved Trail Network with more than 340 miles of paved, multi-use bikeways. This extensive trail system along with new bike lanes downtown, the bike hub at RiverScape MetroPark and Dayton's bronze award as a Bicycle Friendly Community show why the Dayton region is a destination for cycling enthusiasts.

The Bicycle Museum of America, in nearby New Breman, Ohio, has approximately 230 bicycles on display and 900 in their total collection!  Visit and embark on a guided or self-guided adventure! Learn more about the history of the bicycle and how it helped shape the American landscape through innovation and design.  The museum's mission is to provide an understanding through interpretation, social relevance and the dissemination of information on bicycles and cycling on a global and historical platform.

Downtown plays an important role in a larger effort to enhance cycling culture in the City of Dayton, selected as a Bicycle-Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. Dayton was awarded a bronze-level status for its efforts to help make the city more bicycle friendly through initiatives and amenities, including Link, a bike share program, bike parking, sharrows, and the MetroParks Bike Hub at the center of a 70-mile regional bikeway system.
